Happy Easter!

We had a very busy weekend but managed to fit in some fun Easter activities.

After our trip to the park, we had a hot dog lunch. Turkey hot dogs because we try to be healthy occasionally!



Then we colored some eggs

This was so much fun. Except for the sad egg that didn't survive T dropping it on the floor. The kids also woke up to an Easter egg hunt and were quite excited that the Easter bunny came to visit and was very 'tricky' hiding the eggs.

A lament for my team

"Softly call the Muster, let comrade answer 'Here'..."

Sadly, my beloved Aggies have bowed out of this years NCAA tournament. Losing by only 4 points to top-seeded UCLA, the Ags ran out of time (Aggies never lose if you didn't know...) and were eliminated from this year's tourney. Of course this was not before posting a nice upset over BYU (sorry pops!) to make the second round.

And so I light a candle to remember my fallen comrades...see you next year!

Mickey Mouse Here I Come!

If you read my earlier post on DW you know I have been campaigning to take the whole family plus 1 to Disney World this summer.

WELL, Yesterday I got our confirmations! So Mickey Mouse here I come! We are staying at the Swan/Dolphin hotel which means free transport to and from the park by ferry, monorail, bus. Of course I soon realized all the planning and nonsense this will entail. What am I going to do if one of the kids is airsick? What if I get airsick? (Yes, although I travel somewhat frequently I do get airsick!) How am I going to keep the kids from running around the airport or having meltdowns? Thus the planning begins...checklist already includes the portable DVD player, colors and candy...and maybe advil! Bribing works wonders in tough situations. (Yes I bribe my kids sometimes. If you don't then congratulations on being a super parent and please stop judging me.)

There are so many cool things to do there I am bummed we will only have a short time. DH definitely wants to do the surfing lessons. How fun is that? We took surfing lessons on our honeymoon in Hawaii and it was fantastic. This sounds so much better considering you dont have to worry about getting scratched up by the coral *ouch*. I also already order these nifty FREE custom maps for all the rides I want to hit. There are so many neat things they offer when you are going to DW! I realllly need to schedule a character meal though! yikes - they fill up fast but Sydney keeps telling me how she wants to see Minnie so I've got to figure that out quick.

We A Southern People...

Ever heard that quote on Kiss FM? 'We're from South Carolina. We do things in a different way, we a southern people'. *giggle* This week I had a trip to visit one of my hospitals in South Carolina. I am exhausted! I found some places very lovely - tall trees, breezy, adorable shopping centers. Some places were more 'sleepy hollow' with all that hanging moss and dark streets!

We stayed near Hilton Head Island and the town was just adorable. Worked a ton, but I feel like most of what we did was eat. We ate out at a local (no chains!) restaurant for every lunch and dinner...and now my body hates me. We took a short trip to Savannah, Georgia to eat at Paula Dean's - YUM - and I recommend getting in there if you can. The place was booked for dinner but one of the gals did a little flirty please and the host sneeked us up the employee stairs and we got a table! Now I could never do anything like that - but hey I have no objections if someone does it for me! ;)

Got back late and the family came to pick me up. I love seeing the kids run up to me when I come through the doors. Doesn't that always melt your heart?? I didn't sleep very well but it was a nice trip. So don't call me this weekend because I am sleeping!

Jeff did a GREAT job keeping the kids entertained and the house far from a disaster. It wasn't very long ago that I would have expected to come home to a VERY dishelveled house and kids who ate pop-tarts all week. And who wants to arrive home to a mess? Not me! I'm very impressed at how he handled the week without any help from Mommy and kept himself sane. Does this mean I'm becoming obsolete??! I hope not. But still it made me very happy and I will no doubt feel less guilty next trip about leaving all the work to him. he he

The Big DW

which of course means Disney World! Jeff was the top Regional private financial guy in 2007 so we won the yearly trip from WF (YAY JEFF!). So now all I have in my head is disney, disney, disney. I have twisted Jeff’s arm persuaded him that we should take the kids with us for the 5 day trip - fun! It's still 7 weeks away but I cannot wait. I L-O-V-E amusement parks and roller coaster rides. I don't think Jeff likes them much at all - but too bad! lol cause we are going all 5 days. I think he thought this would be a relaxing 'get away' vacation but who needs that when you've got fun waiting for you?? The kids are going to have so much fun. And me. Now the plane ride might not be so much fun. So that's why we are taking my slave sister Elizabeth with us *giggle*. We needed a babysitter and she needed a free vacation! No really, there are meetings we have to attend so we need someone to watch the kids. And luckily for us, Liz said sure and voila!

So now the fun planning part begins. Since WF has pre-booked tickets on certail flights, I'm trying to get us all on the same flight. And all the nonsense that comes with DW planning.

BUT STILL...I'm loving it! Hmmm, I think Jeff is going to hate DW by the time this is over...

Friendly Frankie

I recently got the cutest little sayings stamps from Kim G. and I wanted to try them out. So I decided to make this Friendly Frankenstein card. I found a daisy to go behind my monster (get it? get it? yeah..you had to see the movie.)

Anyway, here is my first shot. I think it is quite hi-lar-e-ous...

A Princess Party

My cousin Nadene's daughter, Maleah, had a very cute Princess tea party themed birthday this past weekend. So all the little girls dressed up in their most "fabulous" outfits and we had a blast. There were picture frames to decorate, tea cups filled with juice and yummy cup cakes. Sydney had so much fun. She was very upset later that day when I told her we would have to take the dress of to sleep. "No! I want to sleep in it!"

Snow Day!

We had our first snow day of the winter...in March. I realized that I am no where near prepared for any cold weather.

SO my first post on this new blog is a special THANK YOU to SIL Jazmin for making this cute header for my first blog. It is just perfect - and I love the colors! Now I am going to get busy and update it with the backlog I have of all my fun pics.
