Yes I finally defeated my old downstairs carpet. Just before Thanksgiving we replaced the downstairs carpets with wood floors. They whipped right through it! For two days I wouldn't even let anyone walk on them because I love them so much.

Bye bye old carpet!

Hello new floors!

Yes, I love them this much.

Also, new last month...Tristen attended his first Mavericks game and of course Jeff had to get him a new jersey. Here he is being a little silly. Every time Dirk scores, Tristen says 'yes!' and does a little fist-pump.

Of course Sydney wanted a picture taken of her as well...

Where I've been...

During the Thanksgiving break, I thought to myself, "self, how about we paint the kids bathroom?" And I replied, "why that will only take me a few hours, what a great idea!". And so began my mini-makeover. What I intended to take two days turned into two weeks as I added a few more things here and there and I said "Self, if you ever have the bright idea to do more home improvement over the Holidays, please go jump in the lake."

I do, however, like the results. I found a fun curtain and now this room is a Florida Keys, lighthouse theme (without much theme). I had a very limited budget so I used left-over materials from other projects and a few choice supplies from my favorite home improvement store. Painting the walls (a very light grey that looks slightly blue) turned into...

Not so great pictures of a great paint job

I might have to succomb and buy a new camera. I have a digital one that I've had for a few years I think. And then I lost the charging cord. So now it's dead and I can't use it because I have looked high and low and CANNOT find it. Has anyone seen it? I haven't even checked if I can buy one. I had a disposable camera lying around and used it for these pictures over the weekend. Sorry for the grainy work, but it's all I've got! You'll just have to come see the new paint for yourself. It's actually MUCH lighter than it looks.

This is the Living Room green before. If you didn't know, the previous owner painted EVERY room in this house a dark jewel tone. We had to prime everything. blech.
